So, you’ve just completed your CRM data migration. You’re probably thinking that all is said and done. Well, you’re almost right!

More often than not, people get excited and may forget to check a couple of boxes. This list aims to ensure your new CRM works to its fullest potential.
Check Your Records ✔️
Schedule some time, at least one hour, to review all your transferred data. You want to make sure your data placement is accurate and in the right format.
Verify Related Fields ✔️
Certain data migrations can be complex based on the number of records or fields. Like any data project, there are so many details. Make sure that your modules and their related fields are matched and in correspondence.
Setup Filters ✔️
This is important for analytical reporting and strategy. Setting up precise filters that are unique to your business process will aid in the development of analytics and reporting.
Classify Work Flow Rules ✔️
Like filters, these are personalized and unique to your business and data needs. You’ll want to arrange workflow rules in the manner best fit.
Train Your Employees ✔️
This step is most important to the flow and function of your business. Introducing a new CRM to your staff is critical in the post-migration process. It is paramount to equip your employees with the right training tools to fully adopt and apply the new system to their day-to-day business routines.
Suggestions for CRM Employee Training
There are a variety of ways you can train your staff to use a new CRM system. Although this is the hardest part of the process, it doesn’t mean it has to be boring or tedious. Here are some suggestions for incentivizing the adoption of a new system:
- Create contests based on certain parts of the CRM and reward employees
- Reward with gift cards or minutes added to PTO
- Use YouTube video tutorials (like the one below) to let employees get familiar on their own
- These videos are usually quirky and easy to follow, making the learning process interactive and fun
Finally, there are important things to remember when training your staff:
- Don’t overload them with information; split up the training into parts
- Hold group meetings to discuss the new system
- Describe why the new system is necessary; more features, better fit for the business model, more storage, less complication, etc.

- Scenario-Based (set up real scenarios to help commit to memory when the actual scenario is taking place)

In Short, Keep it Simple
It is necessary to combine timeliness and productivity when implementing a new system. Focus on keeping your finger on both pulses: You want your business process to continue without interruption, but you also need to have your employees fluent in your new CRM. In short, keep it simple. Divide time between working and training. Drop a certain amount of training at a time. Create incentives to reward employees for adopting the new system. Finally, remember to check off all those boxes previously discussed.
